About Me

I have spent nearly 30 years serving those in need. I am currently a financial worker for the largest county in the state. In this role I assist people in applying for SNAP and MIFP and approve or deny cases based on whether the applicant qualifies. I am a dues-paying member, union steward and delegate of AFSCME Council 5 Local 34, and strong support of the labor movement.

Prior to working for a large metro county, I previously worked in a homeless shelter, domestic violence shelter, and the MNSURE program. I began my career by working in child protection and mental health case work in Central Minnesota.

My own experience growing up in the foster care system and briefly relying on government assistance as a young mother, inspired me to give back by helping others.

In addition to my career in social services, I am a council member at Mount Calvery ELCA Lutheran Church in Eagan, and I, along with other church council members, recently advocated for veterans housing in Eagan. As the mother of a son who is a U.S. Marine veteran and an active member of the National Guard, veterans are close to my heart. My father, grandfather and uncle were also veterans.

I have been an active DLFer since high school. I currently serve as precinct chair and am a member of the following DFL central committees: Senate District 52, Congressional District 2 and the Minnesota State Central Committee.

I live in Eagan and have five adult children and three grandchildren.
